About HCCI

Haripur Chamber of Commerce & Industry since its establishment in 1993 is playing pivotal role for flourishing and development of Commerce & Industry in the Hazara Zone. The Chamber is recognized by the Ministry of Commerce & Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan. HCCI is the sole representative body of the one of the biggest Industrial Estate of KPK Province which is contributing approximately 70-75 billion annually in the national exchequer. We are doing export of more than 20 billion from Hattar. Thus more than 25000 skilled and unskilled workers are working in these industries. Similarly, thousands of small traders are availing business opportunity in the surrounding area.

Recently, the Export Development Board, Ministry of Commerce in its 58th meeting held on 29th June, 2011 sanctioned Rs.6.8 million fund for establishment of R&D Cell at Haripur Chamber of Commerce which will help in restructuring the infrastructure of the Chamber besides research and developmental activities.

The district though basically an agricultural area, is fortunate to have a geo-political situation that is most suitable for establishing industries. This fact has attracted both the private and public sectors to invest their capital for the installation of industries are in the area such as Hattar Industrial estate. Apart from established industrial estates in district Haripur; Telephone Industries of Pakistan (TIP), a large industrial unit which employed thousands of local people is also located in the lush green city of Haripur. It produces variety of telecommunications products & equipments like telephone sets, drop wires, towers, connection cables, D P boxes, telecom batteries, energy meters, fire alarms and container shells etc. It was established in 1952 as a joint venture if Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation and German firm Siemens AG. At present TIP is not only meeting the demand of Pakistan in telecommunication equipments but also of ASEAN markets as well.
